Katherine’s Café at Ayala Malls Manila Bay: A Cozy Spot for Comfort Food Lovers

I’ve cut back on restaurant and cafe visits since last year to save money, and there aren’t many options where I live in the province. However, when I discovered Katherine’s Cafe, a pet-friendly cafe, I instantly fell in love with it, especially its eye-catching appearance and homey atmosphere, which made it inviting.

We sat outside since pets weren’t allowed indoors. Fortunately, the area was equipped with air conditioning, so it was comfortable. I ordered a matcha latte for Php 190 and a brioche queso de bola for Php 112. The hot matcha latte is perfect for the cold weather.

Matcha latte

The friendly staff asked me whether I preferred a strong or mild matcha latte. Since I love matcha, I opted for the stronger option. Our order of drinks and bread arrived promptly, and there were only a few customers in the relatively uncrowded café that day.

I enjoyed the matcha latte and the brioche with queso de bola. The matcha latte had a rich, creamy texture, and the brioche was golden brown and soft, topped with generous amounts of queso de bola cheese. Together, they created a heavenly combination.

I relaxed here before my long journey back to the province. The atmosphere was soothing; I stayed for about thirty minutes. I cherished every moment, a luxury I had never had when I was younger.

I’ve struggled with my mental health since I was young. I kept my feelings to myself because I believed no one would listen or understand. To quiet the unsettling emotions inside, I seek peace in culinary adventures, savoring the tastes and textures of completely new dishes.

I plan to return to Katherine’s cafe to try their other food items. However, I hope I will have some spare money to do so, as these past few years have been financially tough for me.
